Opportunity Description
The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship program offers a fantastic opportunity for international applicants to study and do research in Taiwan. This fellowship initiative is launched by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to encourage academic interaction and enhance worldwide comprehension of issues related to Taiwan. It is intended for international experts and academics with a deep scholarly interest in Taiwan and its neighboring areas.
The program particularly endorses research in fields including Taiwan studies, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and Sinology. With this initiative, the MOFA aims to promote thorough investigation and examination of Taiwan’s progress, regional interactions, and cultural legacy.
Chosen fellows will have the chance to pursue advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan. By collaborating with local academics and utilizing abundant scholarly resources, participants can improve their work while fostering mutual understanding and international cooperation in their fields. Moreover, the fellowship is in line with the APEC Scholarship Initiative, providing 12 unique positions each year for candidates from developing APEC economies. Applications are accepted each May and June, and chosen scholars can commence their research in Taiwan as soon as January of the subsequent year.
