Benefits of Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program
This scholarship provides the following advantages to selected candidates:
- Round-trip economy class flights with a $600 travel budget per journey.
- Fees for tuition and fundamental health insurance.
- Monthly living expenses allowance.
- Covers the length of the graduate program or a period of two years.
Nonetheless, it does not include:
- Visa application charges.
- Family assistance or additional activity expenses.
- Non-degree programs, language workshops, or extra travel.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship
Candidates who wish to participate in this program need to meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be citizens of a developing country that is a member of the World Bank.
- Students should be in good condition.
- Cannot possess dual citizenship with developed nations.
- Candidates are required to possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) obtained no less than 3 years before the application deadline.
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years of full-time compensated development-related employment within the past 6 years.
- Students need to be unconditionally accepted into one of the master’s programs abroad that are part of the JJ/WBGSP before the application deadline.
- Must not be an Executive Director or employee of the World Bank or a family member.
- Former scholarship recipients who refused or failed to graduate are ineligible.
Required Documents
- Application Form: In English or the language of your master’s program, with acceptance of the terms.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): Composed in English or the language of your master’s degree program.
- Bachelor’s Degree Certificate: A scanned version of your bachelor’s certificate.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: Provided online by people who have firsthand knowledge of your professional work history.
- Unconditional Admission Letter: A letter confirming admission to the enrolled master’s program (excluding financial support).
- Document Translation: If the documents are in a language other than English, please upload both the original version and its English translation.
