ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be citizens of a country that is a borrowing member of ADB and qualified for ODA from Japan.
• Applicants cannot possess dual citizenship in any developed nation.
• Applicants for this scholarship need to have been accepted into a specified institution for a master’s program.
• Applicants need to possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, along with an outstanding academic performance.
• Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of professional work experience.
• Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English (in both written and spoken forms).
• This scholarship is available to applicants who are below 35 years old at the time of applying (with some exceptions).
• Applicants should be in excellent health.
• Candidates are required to commit to returning to their home country for a minimum of two years post-graduation.
• Applicants should not be ADB personnel, relatives of ADB personnel, or employed in institutions designated by ADB.
• Applicants must not be presently registered in another graduate degree program.
• Applicants must not reside or be employed outside their home country when applying.
